Morocco’s Boutasaa halts skid with win at ONE Friday Fights 35

Moroccan kickboxing star Mohammed Boutasaa produced a fine performance to put an end to a two-fight losing streak at ONE Friday Fights 35.
Undefeated before those two losses, the man born in the Netherlands to Moroccan parents was able to get back in the win column with a unanimous decision over Turkey’s Furkan Karabag at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Knowing he had a point to prove, Boutasaa came out strongly, picking his shots well, and avoiding the heavy shots being thrown by his opponent.
The second period didn’t go quite as well with Karabag starting to find a home for some heavy blows. But Boutasaa was able to ride out the storm before controlling the third round and taking the UD win.
He now improves to an overall record of 16-2 and can look forward in the ONE featherweight kickboxing division.

Morocco’s Mohammed Boutasaa looking to get back on track at ONE Friday Fights 35

Moroccan kickboxing star Mohammed Boutasaa is hoping to halt a two-fight losing streak this weekend as he returns to the ring at ONE Friday Fights 35.
Born in the Netherlands to a Moroccan family Boutasaa had been perfect in his first fifteen bouts, including his ONE debut but two defeats in the last 12 months have somewhat halted his momentum.
The 24-year-old will be looking to address that slide tomorrow (Friday) when he takes on Turkey’s Furkan Karabag at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
After an impressive debut win against Georgian veteran Davit Kiria via unanimous decision at ONE 157 in May 2022, Boutasaa suffered two straight losses that blemished his overall record, which currently stands at 15-2.
The 24-year-old lost via unanimous decision against Thai star Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong and impressive Iranian Mohammad Siasarani in October 2022 and in May 2023, respectively.
Now, Boutasaa is set to face 25-year-old Karabag, who owns a 26-7 overall professional record and a 1-1 ONE record, after he picked up a debut win against Thailand’s Revo Sor Sommai via third-round TKO on his debut in February 2023 before losing to Nico Carrillo via third-round TKO in April 2023.
ONE Friday Fights 35 comes live from the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand on Friday September 29. Fight fans in the MENA region can watch action BeINSPORTS from 3.30pm MECCA, or through ONE Championship’s official YouTube channel and on watch.onefc.com

Stamp Fairtex: Combat sports royalty in search of another piece of history

When a young five-year-old girl from the Royong region of Thailand started out on her journey into combat sports, few would have foreseen where we are 20 years later.
Inspired by her father, Stamp Fairtex originally got into fighting to help protect herself from bullies, but through hard work and ability quickly developed into a generational talent. In her formative years, it was only a lack of competition that halted her progress – but that all changed at the age of 18 when she moved to Pattaya to join the famous Fairtex Gym.
It was here she would have the opportunity to hone her skills across a range of sports, from her original Muay Thai to kickboxing, and MMA.
Her rise from here was nothing short of incredible, winning the ONE Championship Atomweight Kickboxing World Championship on debut in 2018, and following that up in her second fight by claiming the Muay Thai crown at the same weight. Stamp was ONE’s first two-sport world champion and had achieved the feat in her first two fights, at the age of 21.
It was a meteoric rise, but her trajectory has not always been upward. Consecutive losses in 2020 saw Stamp lose both her kickboxing and Muay Thai world titles – but it has been her reaction to those losses that have defined her championship credentials.
Her surge into MMA was impressive – winning five out of her first six bouts – but it was the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix that really signaled her intentions in the cage. Winning that crown got her a shot at world champion Angela Lee, and while she may not have claimed the belt that night it could have been so different had she been able to capitalise fully on a brilliant liver shot in the first round.
Now she has the chance of MMA redemption in the form of the interim strawweight title when she faces Ham Seo Hee this week at ONE Friday Fights 14. Taking on the experienced 34-year-old will be no easy task, but title history awaits – and the prospect of a superfight against undisputed champion Xiong Jing Nan.
Stamp has already rewritten the history books, and has her sights firmly set on further chapters in the future.
ONE Fight Night 14 comes live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore on Saturday September 30. Fight fans in the MENA region can watch action BeINSPORTS from 3.00am MECCA, or through ONE Championship’s official YouTube channel and on watch.onefc.com

Five Reasons to Watch Stamp vs Ham at ONE Fight Night 14

ONE Fight Night 14 hits our screens this weekend with a card packed with title fights, and blockbusters from top to bottom – here are five reasons you should be tuning in to the action.
Here come the girls
ONE Fight Night 14 is arguably the biggest night of the year for women’s combat sports on a global scale. The Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore, will play host to four world class women’s fights – including three with titles on the line.
A prodigy in action
The term prodigy is often overused, but when you are talking about an 18-year-old world champion it is hard to argue with those words. Sweden’s Smilla Sundell has been combat sports since the age of five, and will defend her ONE strawweight Muay Thai title against atomweight queen Allycia Hellen Rodrigues. Champion versus Champion bouts are always mouthwatering – but this one more than most – will Smilla continue her reign, or can the Brazilian, who boasts Stamp Fairtex’s name on her record, derail this teenage sensation?
Stamp of approval
What is there to say about Stamp Fairtex? When it comes to female trailblazers in women’s combat sports few have the credentials of the Thai 25-year-old. She won the atomweight kickboxing world title on her ONE debut, and became the first two-sport world champion a fight later when she captured the Muay Thai crown. Never content with her accomplishments, Fairtex has now won six of her last seven fights and seeks another piece of history this week when she goes in search of the interim atomweight MMA world title. Standing in her path is the 36-year-old Ham Seo Hee. With a wealth of experience, titles all over Asia, and a 3-0 record in ONE – this is by no means a foregone conclusion.
Special fighters, special rules
One of the fights to really capture fan excitement is between Xiong Jing Nan and Nat ‘Wondergirl’ Jaroonsak. Xiong has been unstoppable in the strawweight MMA division, holding the title since 2018, and only tasting defeat when dropping down to atomweight to take on Angela Lee – but she was able to defeat Lee at 125lbs in her last outing. Wondergirl is a beautifully founded fighter having excelled in Muay Thai and now transitioned to MMA. In the battle however, neither women will be able to rely on their MMA skills – the special rules dictate this will be decided by punches only – and fireworks are sure to follow.
Hands of Stone looks to mount title challenge
From becoming the ONE bantamweight world champion, to having that title stripped from him for missing weight – and losing a subsequent follow up fight with Fabricio Andrade – it has been an up and down 18 months for John Lineker. A winner last time out, he now faces the well-respected Stephen Loman, who is undefeated since arriving in ONE, as both men try to reach the pinnacle of the bantamweight class – a win here puts either man one step closer to a title shot.

Tim Xenos on The Role of Technology in Small Business Success

Technology has become the driving force behind the success of small businesses. Gone are the days when small enterprises could rely solely on traditional methods to stay competitive. Instead, technology integration has become essential for growth, efficiency, and sustainability.

Enhanced Efficiency and Productivity

One of the most immediate benefits of technology for small businesses is enhancing efficiency and productivity. Small businesses can accomplish more with fewer resources by automating repetitive tasks, streamlined processes, and using specialized software. For instance, project management tools like Trello or Asana help organize tasks and track progress, while accounting software like QuickBooks simplifies financial management.

Improved Customer Engagement

Technology has revolutionized the way small businesses interact with their customers. Businesses can now reach a worldwide audience and engage with customers 24/7 through websites, social media platforms, and email marketing. Online chatbots and customer relationship management (CRM) software enable personalized interactions and efficient problem-solving, enhancing the overall customer experience.

Access to Big Data and Analytics

Data is often called the “new oil,” small businesses can tap into this valuable resource through technology. Advanced analytics tools allow companies to gather, analyze, and derive actionable insights from large volumes of data. This information can inform decision-making, help understand customer behavior, and identify trends and opportunities for growth.

Cost Reduction

Small businesses often have limited budgets, and technology can help reduce operational costs significantly. Cloud computing, for instance, eliminates the need for expensive on-premises servers and allows businesses to scale their IT resources according to their needs. Furthermore, virtual communication tools like Zoom and Slack can reduce travel and office space costs.

Enhanced Marketing Strategies

Marketing is essential for business success, and technology has transformed the marketing landscape. Digital marketing tools, such as social media advertising, search engine optimization (SEO), and email marketing, offer cost-effective ways to reach a targeted audience. Small businesses can create and execute sophisticated marketing campaigns with a limited budget, leveling the playing field against larger competitors.

Global Reach

Technology has obliterated geographical boundaries for small businesses. With e-commerce platforms like Shopify and WooCommerce, even the smallest enterprises can establish an online presence and sell their products or services worldwide. This global reach opens up new revenue streams and markets that were previously inaccessible.

Enhanced Decision-Making

Informed decision-making is crucial for business success. Technology provides small businesses with real-time data and analytics that help make data-driven decisions. Whether it’s inventory management, pricing strategies, or market expansion plans, having access to accurate information ensures that decisions are based on facts rather than intuition.

Competitive Advantage

Small businesses that embrace technology gain a competitive edge in their respective industries. Technology allows them to adapt quickly to market conditions and customer needs, and stay ahead of competitors. It enables small businesses to innovate, stay relevant, and thrive in a dynamic business environment.

Improved Cybersecurity

As companies increasingly rely on technology, cybersecurity has become a paramount concern. Small businesses are just as vulnerable to cyber threats, and investing in robust cybersecurity measures is essential to protect sensitive data and customer trust. Technology provides access to tools and resources for safeguarding against cyberattacks.

Technology is not just a tool for small businesses but a fundamental enabler of success. Small businesses harnessing technology’s power can achieve higher efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness. Small businesses must not view technology as an option but as an integral part of their growth strategy to succeed in the digital age. By doing so, they can unlock new opportunities and ensure long-term success.

Tim Xenos on Sports for All Ages: Staying Active and Engaged Throughout Life

Sports and physical activities have always been a fundamental part of human life. From early childhood to our golden years, staying active and engaged through sports offers many benefits beyond physical health. In this blog, we’ll explore the importance of sports for people of all ages and how it contributes to a fulfilling and healthy life.

Sports in Childhood

Sports play a vital part in a child’s physical and emotional development. Whether participating in organized team sports like soccer or basketball or playing tag in the backyard, children learn valuable life skills through these activities. Team sports teach cooperation, communication, and the importance of working together toward a common goal. These early experiences lay the foundation for lifelong friendships and social skills.

Moreover, sports help children develop essential physical skills such as coordination, balance, and agility. These skills contribute to their athletic abilities and support their overall physical health. Regular physical activity in childhood helps combat the rising issue of childhood obesity and promotes a healthy lifestyle.

The Teenage Years

As children transition into their teenage years, sports offer many benefits. Adolescents often face the pressures of school, peer relationships, and the complexities of growing up. Engaging in sports during this time provides an outlet for stress and anxiety. It also boosts self-esteem as teens see improvements in their athletic abilities.

For teenagers, sports can be a path to self-discovery and personal growth. It teaches them discipline, time management, and goal-setting.

It also encourages a sense of responsibility as they learn to balance academics and extracurricular activities.

Adulthood and the Working Years

Many people mistakenly believe that sports are just for the young. However, staying active and engaged in sports is equally crucial during adulthood and the working years. Maintaining an active lifestyle during this stage of life can help prevent chronic diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes, and improve mental health by reducing stress and anxiety.

Playing sports as an adult also provides excellent social interaction and networking opportunities. Joining adult sports leagues or fitness classes can lead to new friendships and support systems. It can also serve as a way to bond with coworkers or friends outside of the office, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

For parents, sports can be a way to connect with their children and serve as a positive example of an active lifestyle. Family activities like hiking, biking, or playing a friendly game of tennis can create lasting memories and promote physical well-being for everyone involved.

Sports in the Golden Years

Staying active and engaged in sports becomes even more critical as we age. Regular exercise can help seniors maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. It enhances muscle strength, balance, and flexibility, reducing the risk of falls and injuries.

Engaging in sports during the golden years can also combat the isolation and loneliness that often accompany aging. Senior sports leagues and fitness classes offer social opportunities and a sense of belonging. Many older adults find that staying active through sports helps them maintain a positive outlook on life and enjoy their retirement years to the fullest.

Adapting to Changing Abilities

It’s important to note that our physical abilities may change as we age. However, this should encourage everyone to stay active through sports. Numerous adaptive sports and activities are designed to accommodate individuals with different physical abilities. Whether it’s wheelchair basketball, water aerobics, or seated yoga, there are options for everyone to enjoy the benefits of sports, regardless of age or physical condition.

Sports are a lifelong journey, offering benefits at every stage of life. Staying active and engaged through sports contributes to physical health, emotional well-being, and social connections from childhood to the golden years. It’s never too early to start or continue your sports journey. So, lace up those sneakers, grab your racket, or dive into that pool—sports genuinely are for all ages, helping us lead healthier, happier lives.

Tim Xenos on Managing Inventory and Supply Chain in the Food and Beverage Industry

Managing inventory and optimizing the supply chain is crucial for success in the fast-paced and dynamic world of the food and beverage industry. With ever-changing consumer preferences, seasonal demands, and global supply chain challenges, businesses in this sector must adapt and implement effective strategies to maintain consistent quality, reduce costs, and meet customer expectations.

The Importance of Inventory Management

Effective inventory management is the cornerstone of success for any food and beverage business. It involves maintaining the right balance between overstocking and understocking to minimize waste, reduce carrying costs, and meet customer demands. Here are some essential aspects of inventory management in this industry:

  1. Demand Forecasting: Accurate demand forecasting is essential to plan for fluctuations in customer orders, seasonal changes, and market trends. By using historical data, market research, and advanced analytics, businesses can better predict consumer preferences and adjust their inventory accordingly.
  2. FIFO (First-In, First-Out) Method: Food items have limited shelf lives, and their quality can deteriorate over time. Implementing the FIFO method ensures that the oldest products are sold first, reducing the risk of spoilage and waste.
  3. Safety Stock: Maintaining safety stock levels is crucial to deal with for unexpected spikes in demand or supply chain disruptions. This buffer inventory can help customers receive their orders on time, even in challenging situations.
  4. Inventory Tracking Technology: Leveraging modern inventory management software and technologies like barcoding and RFID systems can streamline tracking and provide real-time visibility into stock levels. This enhances accuracy and reduces the risk of errors.
  5. Supplier Relationships: Strong relationships with suppliers are vital. Consistent communication and collaboration can lead to better pricing, reliable deliveries, and access to high-quality ingredients or products.

Optimizing the Supply Chain

A well-optimized supply chain is essential for maintaining an efficient and profitabile company in the food and beverage industry. Here are some strategies for achieving this:

  1. Supplier Diversification: Relying on a single supplier can be risky, leaving you vulnerable to disruptions. Diversify your supplier base to spread risk and ensure a consistent flow of ingredients or products.
  2. Transportation Management: Efficient transportation is crucial to minimize delays and maintain product freshness. Invest in effective logistics solutions, such as temperature-controlled trucks, to ensure that goods reach their destination optimally.
  3. Just-in-Time (JIT) Inventory: JIT is a strategy that involves receiving goods as needed, reducing the need for extensive warehousing. This approach can minimize storage costs and improve inventory turnover.
  4. Sustainability: As consumer awareness of environmental issues grows, adopting sustainable supply chain practices can be a competitive advantage. This includes reducing packaging waste, sourcing locally, and implementing energy-efficient processes.
  5. Technology Integration: Embrace technology to streamline supply chain operations. Incorporate tools like inventory management software, GPS tracking, and data analytics to gather insights and make informed decisions.

Challenges in the Food and Beverage Supply Chain

While effective inventory management and supply chain optimization are essential, the food and beverage industry faces unique challenges:

  1. Shelf Life Concerns: Many food and beverage products have limited shelf life, making it crucial to balance supply and demand accurately. This requires a deep understanding of product expiration dates and storage requirements.
  2. Regulatory Compliance: The industry requires numerous food safety, labeling, and traceability regulations. Staying compliant with these rules can be complex and time-consuming.
  3. Seasonal Variations: Demand for certain products can fluctuate significantly depending on the season, holidays, and special events. Planning for these variations is essential to avoid overstocking or understocking.
  4. Supply Chain Disruptions: Natural disasters, political unrest, and global pandemics can disrupt the supply chain, causing delays and shortages. Having contingency plans in place is crucial to mitigate these risks.

Effective inventory management and supply chain optimization are fundamental to success in the food and beverage industry. In this ever-evolving industry, staying agile and continuously improving your inventory and supply chain strategies is vital for staying ahead of the competition and delighting your customers.

WATCH: Five incredible moments from a historic night at ONE Friday Fights 34

ONE Friday Fights 34 is in the record books and what an incredible night it was – with Rodtang and Superlek living up to all the hype and giving us the biggest Muay Thai showdown in five decades.
Now is the time to relive the most spectacular moments from the night….
1. Superlek drops Rodtang

Bleeding from two cuts on his heads opened up by Rodtang elbows in the first round, Superlek came firing back in round two and dropped the ONE flyweight Muay Thai World Champion with an elbow of his own. It would be the turning point of the fight and one that helped Superlek go on to get the victory.
2. A fast start to the night

The opening fight of the night kicked things off in spectacular style with Lito Adiwang overwhelming Adrian Mattheis in their strawweight MMA clash. Twenty-three seconds was all it took to get the job done on a short night’s work for Thunder Kid.
3. Suakim elbow out of nowhere

Iran’s Saman Ashouri really needed a win in this one after two straight defeats in ONE. He had started well, looking aggressive and picking his shots well, but as the round progressed it would be Suakim who would turn the fight on its head with a vicious right elbow and straight left combo that brought this one to an early conclusion.
4. Trindade makes his mark

If Portugal’s Miguel Trindade was out to make an impression on his debut, he certainly did. Facing dangerous Thai star Sibmuen, he got on the front foot in this catchweight Muay Thai battle. First to the punch throughout the first round, Trindade would eventually finish things in the first round with a flurry of knees and punches – rounded off with a left hand to the body.
5. A star is born

Songchainoi went into this one with three straight wins in ONE, but against the experience of Jomhod, some thought he would have a real test on his hands. Explosive and powerful from the outset Songchainoi was in dominant form, knocking his foe down three times in the second round – ending things with a stunning front kick and right hand combo.

ONE Friday Fights 34: Biggest Muay Thai fight in 50 years is a classic, tough night for MENA fighters

Muay Thai’s biggest fight in five decades didn’t disappoint as Superlek scored a historic win over Rodtang in an instant classic – but MENA fighters went 0-3 in Bangkok.
In front of a capacity crowd at the Lumpinee Stadium, Superlek overcame adversity to defeat the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion in a three-round thriller. After Superlek missed weight, the title was not on the line but that didn’t detract from what was always going to be an incredible spectacle.
Flyweight kickboxing champ Superlek had started well, using his trademark kicks to chop at the legs, but it was Rotang’s elbows that would do the real damage – opening up two sizeable cuts on his opponent.

Momentum shifted in the second round however, with Superlek controlling distance well and finding a home for well placed knees and elbows of his own eventually dropping the champion in what would be the turning point of the fight. Further pressure in the third round helped Superlek to a unanimous decision win – and fans wondering what might come between these two men again in the future.

Iran-born Amir Naseri put on a brave display in the co-main event but was unable to break down the constant pressure of Seksan. ‘The Man Who Yields to No One’ threw power shot after power shot, but Naseri took everything thrown at him – but ended up on the wrong end of a unanimous decision.
Seksan aimed with vicious intent from the outset, but Neseri remained composed, finding his range well with elbows of his own. Both men showed the scars of battle at the end of three rounds with both eyebrows of Neseri bleeding significantly, while a huge haematoma had formed on the forehead of the Thai fighter – but he was still able to get his arm raised.
Algerian standout Akram Hamidi was unable to get what would have been the biggest win of his career as he dropped to a unanimous decision against Prajanchai. The Thai fighter is the current interim strawweight Muay Thai world champion, but looked right at home during his kickboxing debut.

Hamidi showed flashes of his ability throughout the contest, but Prajanchai was always one step ahead and almost finished the fight with a blistering left hook at the end of the second round which left Hamidi on the canvas and thankful to hear the bell. The third round saw both men trying to pour on the pressure, but it was the variety and speed shown by Prajanchai that guided him to victory.
It was another tough night for Iran’s Saman Ashouri who slipped to his third consecutive ONE defeat. He had started promisingly against Thailand’s Suakim, looking to close the distance and not afraid to let his hands go. However as the bout progressed, and Ashouri continued to move forward, Suakim would counter with a vicious right elbow, followed up with a big straight left to end things in the first round.
Elsewhere, it was two youngsters who really caught the eye. First it was 23-year-old Songchainoi who produced a stunning display to KO veteran Jomhod in the second round. Portugal’s Miguel Trindade went one better – the 22-year-old stopping Sibmuen in the first round with an aggressive display of accurate hand and knee strikes.
